The more common faults are the failure of the screen inverter – the electronics that powers the screen -  or  faults with the graphics card.

Screen inverter repair is straightforward.

However:

Laptop Graphics cards are often integrated into the mother board, and that can make laptop graphic repair uneconomic – but it is worth considering repair, because many of the faults can be repaired at a fraction of the cost of laptop replacement.
